Despite having a deep secondary, the Denver Broncos continue to scout defensive backs ahead of the 2026 NFL draft.
Denver had recent Zoom calls with Washington cornerback Ephesians Prysock and Oklahoma safety Robert Spears-Jennings, according to the Denver Post's Luca Evans. Prysock (6-3, 196 pounds) ran a 40-yard dash in 4.45 seconds at the NFL combine. The league's official website has him projected as a fourth-round prospect. Spears-Jennings (6-2, 205 pounds) ran a blazing-fast 40 in 4.32 seconds at the combine. Mock drafts prospect him as a sixth-round prospect.
The Broncos previously met with North Carolina cornerback Marcus Allen (6-2, 187 pounds) at the NFL combine. He's projected to be a late-round pick. Denver also had a private meeting with Maryland safety Jalen Huskey (6-1, 196 pounds), another potential late-round candidate.
Additionally, USF cornerback De'Shawn Rucker told Justin Melo of Sports Illustrated that he's "been in contact" with several teams, including the Broncos. Rucker (6-0, 195 pounds) appears to be a Day 3 or undrafted prospect.
Following the Jaylen Waddle trade last month, Denver holds seven picks in the 2026 NFL draft, which will be held in Pittsburgh from April 23-25.
