The 2026 NFL Draft is just days away, and the Denver Broncos are wondering how the board will shake out as they will have to show a great deal of patience without a pick until late in the second round.
The Broncos will be looking to add a few players to put the final touches on what many feel is a championship roster, but if one position needs a little added help before the season starts, it's inside linebacker. The Broncos may choose to take the best player on their board with this pick. Vanderbilt tight end Eli Stowers is a popular pick at this stage of the draft season by those in the mock draft business, for instance.
But if the team chooses to go by position of need, it's hard to argue that they should not zero in on an inside linebacker. With Alex Singleton and Justin Strnad as the projected starters and little in the way of proven depth behind them, the Broncos need more.
When Denver goes on the clock with the No. 62 overall pick, if any of these three players are on the board, the Broncos should strongly consider making one of them their selection.
Jacob Rodriguez, Texas Tech
In all likelihood, Jacob Rodriguez will be off the board by this point, but drafts can be very unpredictable. He is a tackling machine that has the athleticism of a safety. The most appealing reason for the Broncos to add him would be his ability to drop back and play the pass. This is something that has long been missing from inside linebackers for the Broncos.
The Broncos should consider three specific players, including Vanderbilt tight end Eli Stowers, to address their needs.
The Broncos primarily need to strengthen their inside linebacker position before the season starts.
With projected starters Alex Singleton and Justin Strnad lacking proven depth behind them, the Broncos need additional talent at inside linebacker.

Josiah Trotter, Missouri
Josiah Trotter is only 21 years old and with only two seasons of college football under his belt, has yet to come anywhere close to realizing his full potential. The Broncos would be banking on his NFL bloodlines as he is the son of former Pro-Bowl linebacker Jeremiah Trotter.
Anthony Hill, Jr., Texas
Of the linebackers listed here, Anthony Hill may be the most complete player. In addition to being a solid tackling linebacker, he is adept in pass coverage and has a proven track record of being able to hunt down the quarterback as a blitzer up the middle and off the edge. He is a true three-down player who could take the job of either Singleton or Strnad as a rookie.
