The Denver Broncos have a great history of uncovering undrafted free agent gems, and Northern Arizona wide receiver Kolbe Katsis will aim to continue that trend in 2026.
Katsis (6-1, 185 pounds) started his college career at Pittsburg State, earning MIAA Freshman of the Year recognition in 2022. He later transferred to NAU, where he was named an FCS Football Central second-team All-American in 2025. Katsis was also named a first-team All-Big Sky selection at both receiver and kick returner, totaling 1,068 receiving yards and 11 receiving touchdowns last fall.
He ended his two-year run at NAU with 95 receptions, 1,566 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns, but it was his work as a returner that caught Denver's eye. Broncos special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi "really likes" Katsis as a returner, according to the Denver Gazette's Chris Tomasson.
Katsis returned 17 kickoffs for 521 yards and one touchdown last fall, including a 100-yard return. He posted 40-yard dash times in the 4.43s range at his pro day, and that kind of speed could make him a sleeper to win a spot as a returner this summer.
If Denver wants to get Marvin Mims more involved on offense this fall, somebody else will have to step up at returner. Katsis will be one of the names to watch this summer.
