Broncos Roster Didn't Change Much During Offseason But Lacks At This Position
The Denver Broncos didnāt do much in the offseason to shake up the roster, although the most notable addition in wide receiver Jaylen Waddle was a huge roster-shaking move, because of how much success the team had in 2025.
The Broncos won the American Football Conference West division for the first time since 2015 after going 14-3 and just fell short of a Super Bowl appearance. Because of that, Denver opted for continuity and are essentially ārunning it back.ā
The Broncos mostly re-signed its own free agents and didnāt go on a huge spending spree like other teams in the division because it really didnāt need to. The Waddle trade is enough of a needle-moving transaction that the Broncos can focus on building more chemistry as a unit.
The offense seems set with a great all-around receiver added to the passing game and the defense almost set a record for most sacks in a single season. Denverās defensive unit was outstanding and kept the team in games long enough for the offense to win in the fourth quarter, but the players arenāt getting younger and after losing defensive end John Franklin-Myers to the Tennessee Titans in free agency, thereās a gaping hole on the defensive line that has yet to be filled.
At left defensive end, Zach Allen is a first-team All-Pro selection and Pro Bowler who can get to the quarterback, stop the run and disrupt passing plays. He had seven sacks, six pass deflections and a career-high 47 QB hits in 2025 but needs help opposite of him.
The most significant roster change for the Denver Broncos was the addition of wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.
The Denver Broncos had a successful 2025 season, winning the AFC West division with a record of 14-3.
The Broncos opted for continuity because they had a successful season and believed that building chemistry with their existing players was more beneficial than making extensive changes.

ESPNās Aaron Schatz crafted a list of what every teamās biggest remaining roster hole is and his pick for the Broncos was right defensive end.
āFirst-team All-Pro Zach Allen holds down the left end spot in Denver's 3-4 base defense, but who will be on the right side?ā Schatz wrote Thursday. āEyioma Uwazurike is in his fifth season with the Broncos and has started only one game.
āHe played 36% of Denver's defensive snaps last season. Last year's third-round pick, Sai'vion Jones, played only 2.9% of snaps. And this year's third-rounder, Tyler Onyedim, might not be ready to play significant snaps for a serious playoff contender.ā
It would be great if Uwazurike, Jones and Onyedim could step up and play big roles for this team. Without Franklin-Myers taking reps away from younger players, this season is a great opportunity for these guys to prove themselves and earn more playing time.
The Broncos defense will take a bit of a hit just because of how valuable Franklin-Myers is but it should be just fine even if RDE is a rotation of Uwazurike, Jones and Onyedim.
