The Denver Broncos have agreed to terms on a new, five-year contract with general manager George Paton, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero first reported on Friday. Paton is now under contract with the club through the 2030 season.
Paton, 56, was entering the final year of the original six-year deal he signed with the Broncos in 2021. Denver coach Sean Payton had previously campaigned for Paton to get an extension, calling it "overdue." Greg Penner, the team's majority owner, had made it clear that he hoped to keep Paton "long term," and this new deal solidifies that.
Payton, meanwhile, has two years remaining on his contract. He could be next in line for a contract extension now that Paton has been secured for five more seasons.
