The Cleveland Brownsâ 2026 rookie minicamp is officially in the books, and fans were able to see a first glimpse of some of the teamâs top rookies from general manager Andrew Berryâs incredible 2026 NFL Draft class.
While most of the attention was on the teamâs first-round picks in Utah offensive tackle Spencer Fano and Texas A&Mâs wide receiver KC Concepcion, fellow rookie wideout Denzel Boston made his first media appearance on Saturday afternoon and discussed his entire offseason with the organization.
When asked about how he improved throughout the offseason, Boston told reporters on Saturday that he put a âlot of emphasisâ on his quickness coming out of his routes.
âI think I put a lot of emphasis on [quickly coming out of his routes] during the time of training, like even coming into the Combine and just definitely learning how to sink my hips better to be more explosive out of my routes,â Boston said.
Boston, who spent his entire college career with the Washington Huskies, was able to become one of the top-ranked receivers in the 2026 NFL Draft thanks to his incredible showing in his last two seasons with the program. During those final two seasons, the 22-year-old recorded 1,715 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns on 125 receptions, proving himself to be an excellent red-zone threat for the Huskies.
After not hearing his name called on the first night of the most recent draft, the Browns ultimately decided to use the No. 39 pick on Boston. The addition of the former Big 10 Conference standout now gives Cleveland a young, dynamic wide receiver corps heading into the 2026 NFL season, as Boston is set to join Concepcion for next season.
In addition to his work this offseason, Boston also gave a recap of his rookie minicamp on Saturday, telling reporters that he performed âdecently wellâ but has more to improve on heading into this season.

âI think, overall, I performed decently well,â Boston claimed. âThereâs always still âmore on the boneâ to go get. Iâm a rookie, I still have a lot to improve on and a lot to get better at, so these past couple of days, I felt like Iâve done a good job, and at the same time, thereâs still a lot more for me to get done.â
Despite having an incredible stature that should allow him to be an âXâ receiver at the NFL level, one of the main concerns for Boston before this yearâs draft was his struggles to create separation between himself and defenders. Luckily for Browns fans, Boston is continuing to make strides in that area of his game, which will be beneficial for Clevelandâs passing game in 2026.
Now, fans will get to see the second-round pick against the teamâs top defensive backs in Denzel Ward and Tyson Campbell later this offseason. And while the challenge may seem like a daunting task for the rookie, Boston told reporters that he is âexcitedâ to work with the veterans.
âI am going to be very excited to go work with [the veterans], those are the guys that Iâve watched on TV over the last few years, and now I get to work with them, so itâs going to be really awesome,â Boston stated. Also, I just have to bring my energy, bring my confidence, have a good understanding of my alignments and assignments, and go out there and play football.â
