The Cleveland Browns entered the 2026 NFL Draft with a few clear needs on the offensive side of the ball, with the offensive line and the wide receiver room being priorities.
After their first round, in which they took OL Spencer Fano out of Utah and WR KC Concepcion out of Texas A&M, they had resolved both of their top needs.
The only question left was where Fano would play along the OL. According to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, the Browns have seemingly already decided on his starting spot, with Fano expected to be the team's left tackle of the future.
"The Browns have their left tackle," Breer writes. "Cleveland, to be clear, plans to start him there and keep him there."
There was a scenario where the Browns elected to play Fano at right tackle, or even move him inside to offensive guard.
But, using the No. 9 pick after a small trade-down with the Kansas City Chiefs, Fano's most likely landing spot along the OL was always going to be left tackle.
This is not a surprise at all, but it is noteworthy that Breer is reporting this plan in such clear detail. Fano will be the Browns' left tackle in 2026 and beyond.

While Fano played at right tackle for the last two years at Utah, he has shown the ability to play left tackle at a high level in the past, and he's an overall solid lineman. The move back to the left side shouldn't pose a problem for Fano.
