The Cleveland Browns made two picks in the first-round of the 2026 NFL Draft, and both were solid picks that addressed their two biggest needs: Offensive tackle and wide receiver.
At No. 9, following a great trade-down, the Browns took Utah OT Spencer Fano. Then at No. 24, the Browns took Texas A&M WR KC Concepcion.
Both are nice picks, but there is one massive question with Concepcion for the Browns. As ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi pointed out, the Browns' new WR has a drop issue that could pose a problem for Shedeur Sanders and the offense in 2026.
"Biggest question: Can Concepcion fix his issues with drops?" Oyefusi writes. "His 6.7% drop rate ranked 285th out of qualifying pass catchers."
A wide receiver with drop issues is a massive red flag. Concepcion has a 6.7% drop rate, which ranked near the bottom of pass catchers in college football last year.
Makai Lemon, who went a few picks before the Browns at No. 20 overall to the Philadelphia Eagles, has a much better drop rate. He would've been a better pick for the Browns than Concepcion.
For the Browns offense, with a quarterback who needs his receivers to be a lot better, drafting someone with drop issues is a big concern.

However, if Concepcion can put those drop issues behind him, the Browns will have one of the best players after the catch in the 2026 draft class in their WR room.
The only issue is getting the ball in his hands. And with Sanders, Dillon Gabriel, and Deshaun Watson all struggling with accuracy, these drop issues might be even more pronounced in 2026.
Hopefully for the Browns, his 6.7% drop rate was just an aberration, and he can be a lot more sure-handed in 2026 in the NFL than he was in college.
But, until the Browns see consistent production, or if they see some drop issues, this pick might end up being a troubling one for the Browns.
