The Cleveland Browns came out of the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft as one of the biggest winners thanks to their savvy trade-down with the Kansas City Chiefs to the No. 9 pick.
But, with that selection, they took Spencer Fano, an offensive tackle out of Utah. He projects to be the Browns' new left tackle. However, there is some concern for Fano.
As ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi noted, the Browns might still have a hole at left tackle after this draft pick, thanks to a big question about his arm length, just as the New England Patriots face with Will Campbell.
"Is Fano's future actually at left tackle?" Oyefusi writes. "Throughout the draft process, there has been speculation that Fano could move inside to guard or tackle because of his sub-33-inch arm length."
While the Browns could use a high-quality offensive guard, with Zion Johnson and Teven Jenkins currently slated to be the starters, the Browns could use a better starter.
But if the Browns took Fano with the hopes of him being their left tackle, his turning into a guard would be a disappointment.
The Browns have concerns about Spencer Fano's arm length, which could impact his effectiveness as a left tackle, similar to issues faced by Will Campbell of the Patriots.

With some concern over his arm length, the same problem Will Campbell faced with the Patriots last season, the Browns' new lineman might not find a home at LT.
While Oyefusi brings up a good point about the arm-length concerns, Campbell wasn't a terrible tackle until he came back from injury late in the year.
Fano might have some struggles at left tackle, like most any rookie would at such a difficult position. And if he does, the arm-length question will once again come up, with a move to the interior of the offensive line in considerations.
Cleveland might still have a hole at left tackle despite spending a premium pick on someone for the position. It's a worst-case scenario, but one to keep in mind just in case.
