Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders is once again under a microscope after recent comments from his brother, Shilo Sanders.
Cleveland dot com's Mary Kay Cabot reported on Wednesday that quarterback Deshaun Watson had the edge in the race for the Browns' QB1 spot, and that Sanders would have to do quite a bit to make up the ground. Cabot reported that the Browns are hopeful to name a prospective starter before the team gets to training camp as not to split first-team reps.
This news was not received well by Shilo.
After Cabot's report came out, Sanders took to Instagram to comment under an aggregated post, "Go make me a sandwich Mary."
The former Colorado and Buccaneers' cast off then doubled down on a live stream, continuing his tirade on the Cleveland dot com reporter with more sexist comments:
“If you’re gonna be a reporter, be a reporter and report facts. Whenever you have your opinions, and your opinions are always something hateful toward Shedeur, then it makes it seem like it's something weird. Like, there is an agenda going on... with you, there is so much emotion that I don't want you to make women look bad when it comes to reporting.”
Not a great look, Shilo!
The Browns have stated they are likely done adding to the quarterback room after the selection of Arkansas' Taylen Green. This means they will take Sanders, Watson, Green, and Dillon Gabriel into the Spring and Summer as the quarterbacks on the roster who are set to duke it out for the starting job.
If Cabot's report is true, and it comes off as information she was told from someone internally, then it is Watson's job to lose. Sanders is not out of the race just yet, but as Cabot puts it, he will have to "dazzle" from here on out.
Shilo Sanders expressed discontent with reports suggesting Deshaun Watson has the edge over Shedeur for the starting QB role.
Shedeur Sanders is under scrutiny due to his brother's comments and the reports indicating he needs to improve to compete with Deshaun Watson for the starting position.
The Browns hope to name their starting quarterback before training camp to avoid splitting first-team reps.
