Isaiah Bond, a second-year wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns, is changing his jersey number from 16 to 0 for the 2026 season. He becomes only the second player in franchise history to wear the number after it was approved by the NFL in 2023.
The 2026 NFL Draft has come to an end, and it saw the Cleveland Browns take two wide receivers within the first two rounds of the draft in order to overhaul that room. However, one player who was added to the room a year ago is making a change of his own.
Isaiah Bond, signed as an undrafted free agent by the Browns a year ago, is changing his number.
After wearing No. 16 a year ago, the Browns' pass catcher is now changing his number to 0. This number was worn by former cornerback Greg Newsome from 2023 through 2025 before he was traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Bond becomes just the second player in franchise history to wear the number after the NFL allowed teams to use 0 as a registered number in 2023.
Bond became an immediate starter for the Browns in 2025 after signing as an undrafted free agent. While quarterback play all season long is partially to blame for the lack of production from the wide receiver room, the Browns will be hoping for more from Bond this upcoming season. He amassed just 18 catches for 338 yards and no touchdowns in 16 games for the Browns a year ago.
With the additions of KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston, Bond may be relegated to the status of WR4, however, behind the two new rookies and veteran Jerry Jeudy. Perhaps reducing his role to a more modest one is a great way to hone in on Bond's particular skillset and not ask too much from him at such a young age.
Isaiah Bond is changing his jersey number to 0 as part of a personal decision and to mark his second year with the Cleveland Browns.
The number 0 was previously worn by former cornerback Greg Newsome from 2023 to 2025 before he was traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
As a second-year player and now wearing the number 0, Isaiah Bond is expected to make a significant impact in the Browns' revamped wide receiver room.
