Browns select former Arkansas QB Taylen Green in 6th round of 2026 NFL Draft

Taylen Green is headed to the Cleveland Browns.

The Browns selected the former Arkansas quarterback with the first pick of the sixth round of the 2026 NFL Draft on Saturday, April 25. Green is the seventh quarterback selected in this year's draft, with three of them coming on Day 3.

Green, 23, was the No. 182 overall selection and joins a quarterback room that will also feature Shedeur Sanders, DeShaun Watson and Dillon Gabriel. The Browns added Sanders and Gabriel in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Last season, Green completed 198-of-326 passes (60.7%) for 2,714 yards, 19 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in his second season as a starter for the Razorbacks. He threw for 3,154 yards, 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 2024 after beginning his career at Boise State in 2021.

Green posted a 4.36-second 40-yard dash and a 43.5-inch vertical jump, both best among quarterbacks all time at the NFL combine. Green measured out at 6-foot-6.

USA TODAY's Jacob Camenker gave Cleveland an A- for its draft grade for taking Green No. 182 overall:

"The Browns are taking a big swing with Green. The four-year starter at Boise State and Arkansas has a cannon arm and elite speed and mobility, but the 6-6, 230-pound signal-caller struggled with accuracy and consistency. Still, Green's athleticism makes him a worthwhile gamble for a Browns team that lacks an established starting quarterback."
