The Philadelphia Flyers’ list of injuries may be longer than expected. Thursday morning, before GM Danny Briere addresses the media at the Flyers training center in Voorhees, New Jersey, he revealed a list of injuries that the team was dealing with this postseason.
While the injuries to players like Owen Tippett were already revealed, and guys like Cam York and Christian Dvorak were known to have been playing through injury, the list is even longer than expected.
10 players were revealed to have been playing through injury during the team’s postseason run.
Per Briere, the injuries are as follows:
Emil Andrae was playing through a fractured wrist, which will require surgery.
Alex Bump was playing through an MCL sprain.
Noah Cates fractured his foot, but will not require surgery.
Christian Dvorak suffered a fractured rib and a separated shoulder.
Nikita Grebenkin is the only player on the list without a specific injury. He was just listed as having an upper-body injury.
Garnet Hathaway was playing through a fractured fibula.
Travis Konecny played through a fractured rib and a nasal fracture.
Owen Tippett, as revealed on Tuesday, dealt with internal bleeding and a sports hernia.
Cam York played through a fractured rib.
Trevor Zegras sprained a ligament in his elbow.
Head coach Rick Tocchet said he squeezed just about everything that he could out of his team. Given the long list of injuries to the Flyers’ players this postseason, no kidding. Philadelphia has a tough bunch of players who battled through a lot.
