NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa. â Michael Kim needed a birdie at the last to play the weekend and he did one better. He holed a 65-foot eagle putt from the fringe and pumped his right fist knowing that he gave himself a chance to compete for the Wanamaker Trophy.
It took a 36-hole aggregate of 4-over 144 at Aronimink Golf Club to be among the 82 players to make the weekend at the 2026 PGA Championship. There would've been one more but Angel Ayora of Spain, playing in the final group of the day, missed a 25-foot putt at the last and can book a flight home. But just eight shots separate the 15 players who made the cut on the number â including Shane Lowry, Daniel Berger and European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald â and co-leaders Alex Smalley and Maverick McNealy, who are tied at 4-under 136.
Several notables were not so fortunate, including Bryson DeChambeau, and Tommy Fleetwood and Russell Henley, who are both in the top 10 in the Official World Golf Ranking. Hereâs a closer look at those who packed up early.
