The future of the LIV Golf Tour beyond 2026 is uncertain following the divestment of Saudi Arabia. The PGA has made it clear that it doesnāt plan on welcoming any former LIV golfers with open arms, but one of LIVās top athletes is fine with focusing on other things should LIV cease operations.
āI think, from my perspective, Iād love to grow my YouTube channel three times, maybe even more,ā Bryson DeChambeau said, while preparing for this weekās LIV Golf tournament at Trump National Golf Club, per ESPN.
āI would love to. Iād love to do a bunch of dubbing in different languages, giving the world more reason to watch YouTube. And then Iād love to play tournaments that want me.ā
He also revealed that he was blindsided by the news that LIVās future was murky.
āI was completely shocked,ā DeChambeau said. āI didnāt expect it to happen. A couple months before that, itās like, āWeāre here until 2032. Weāve got financing until 2032,ā and so I told everybody, and thatās what I was told.
āAnd then, you know, I havenāt had any communication. And unfortunately, things are moving on in a different direction. Obviously, they wanted to move on.ā
DeChambeau does see a world where both sides can come to an agreement on a particular merger, though.
āIf we have a great business model and theyāre very interested in combining forces, thatās the Kumbaya moment, right?ā DeChambeau said. āSo, itās our job to come up with a better business plan on the [top company] side. The team franchises, thereās enough making profit now to where we could sell them for close to $200 million, and thatās not talking about my team either.
āI think it requires a little bit of everybody kind of just lowering their guards and all coming together and going, āOK, whatās best for the game of golf?'ā
