Bryson DeChambeau is among the LIV Golf players looking to cause a real upset at the PGA Championship this week.
A total of 11 LIV Golf players are taking on the major championship at Aronimink Golf Club, which arrives at a time of great uncertainty for the breakaway tour.
Saudi Arabiaâs Public Investment Fund (PIF) will end its funding of LIV Golf at the end of the 2026 season, leaving the future of its players up in the air.
But the likes of DeChambeau and Jon Rahm now have the PGA Championship to distract them, where they will compete alongside and against many PGA Tour players.
But questions have been asked of LIV Golf star DeChambeau ahead of the tournament, at which his chances of success have been discussed by Ryan Lavner.
Lavner said on the Golf Channel Podcast with Rex & Lav: âIâm not sure Bryson has ever been a bigger question mark. I find what heâs done this season competitively really confusing.
âHe had back-to-back wins on LIV. It looked like he was in great form heading into the Masters and then a surprising missed cut there after what he had done the last couple of years, where it seemed like he had figured it out.
âHe had the wrist issue in Mexico. Even last week he alluded to a shoulder issue that he has been dealing with since the Ryder Cup, that has been causing him so much concern he needed an MRI scan to make sure everything was structurally okay.
âHe finished third last week in Virginia. What sort of Bryson or form are we going to see? The disparity between major championships and his LIV Golf season has been quite a disparity.
âAnd where is his headspace? What I know about professional golfers is that most tend to thrive when things are clear-headed and things are calm off the golf course.
