

Wheelersburg and Notre Dame have secured No. 1 seeds in the OHSAA postseason softball draw for Division V and Division VII, respectively. The official brackets were released on Sunday afternoon.
Softball programs across the state at the OHSAA level learned of their postseason seeds and fate Sunday, with Wheelersburg and Notre Dame heading the charge by earning No. 1 seeds in their respective district brackets in Division V and Division VII to lead the charge in the official OHSAA Southeast District Brackets, which were released Sunday afternoon.
A look at the brackets are below:
Division V
In the OHSAA Division V realm, Portsmouth (10-11), who earned a No. 10 seed, will host No. 15 New Lexington (7-16) in a Division V District Quarterfinal at Portsmouth High School on Wednesday, May 13 at 5 p.m.
The winner of that contest will take on either No. 3 Piketon or No. 22 West Union the following Wednesday, May 20 at 4 p.m. at Ohio University in Athens in a district semi, with the winner advancing to a OHSAA Division V, Southeast District 1 Championship matchup on Saturday, May 22 at a time to be announced.
In the Southeast 2 Bracket, No. 12 Northwest (12-12) will host No. 13 Westfall (8-10) in another OHSAA Division V District Quarterfinal which the Lady Mohawks will host on Wednesday, May 13 at 5 p.m. With a win, Northwest would then play Wheelersburg (15-4) on Monday, May 18 at 4 p.m. in a OHSAA Division V District Semifinal, where one or the other would play in a district championship contest on Friday, May 22 at a time to be announced. The district semifinals and finals will be at Ohio University.
Division VI
At the OHSAA Division VI realm, Valley (13-6) earned a No. 1 seed while West obtained a No. 3 seed as both teams claimed immediate byes into the OHSAA Division VI District Semifinals.
South Webster (4-13) obtained a No. 8 seed in the OHSAA Division VI District Quarterfinals and will play No. 9 Nelsonville-York on Tuesday, May 12 at 5 p.m. The winner of that contest will play Valley in the first of two Division VI, Southeast District 1 Semis on Tuesday, May 19 at 4 p.m. at Unioto High School in Chillicothe, while West will play the winner of No. 6 Lynchburg-Clay and No. 11 Ripley on Wednesday, May 20 at 6 p.m. in the second of two Division VI, Southeast District 2 Semis.
The winner of those semifinal contests play on Friday, May 22 at Unioto High School.
Division VII
In the OHSAA Division VII ranks, Notre Dame (20-2) obtained a No. 1 seed and with it obtained a bye into the OHSAA Southeast District Semifinals, which will be held on Monday, May 18 at Wellston High School. Notre Dame will play the winner of either No. 8 Miller or No. 9 Whiteoak at 4 p.m. in that district semi.
Clay (17-7), who is a No. 4 seed, will host No. 13 South Gallia (2-20) in the district quarterfinals while No. 7 Green (11-11) will host No. 10 Sciotoville East (2-13) in contests on Wednesday, May 13 at 5 p.m. The Lady Panthers will play either No. 5 Eastern Pike or No. 12 Western Pike on Monday, May 18 in a district semi at 6 p.m., while Green or East will advance to face No. 2 Symmes Valley on Tuesday, May 19 in a district semi at 4 p.m.
The district semis and district finals in the Southeast Districtâs Division VII realm will be held at Wellston High School.
Wheelersburg and Notre Dame earned No. 1 seeds in Division V and Division VII, respectively.
The Division V District Quarterfinal match for Portsmouth is scheduled for Wednesday, May 13 at 5 p.m.
Portsmouth will host No. 15 New Lexington in the District Quarterfinals.
The OHSAA Division V Southeast District Championship is set for Saturday, May 22, with the time to be announced.
