From Butt’s perspective, he believes INEOS need to start with Manuel Ugarte, Joshua Zirkzee, Noussair Mazraoui and Tyrell Malacia.
The latter will be leaving anyway due to his contract expiring, while buyers will need to be sought for the rest of the quartet.
Ugarte, Mazraoui and Zirkzee all signed in the same window in the summer of 2024, but have failed to leave a lasting impact when plying their trade in the Premier League.
Mazraoui has perhaps impressed the most, though it’s his chequered injury record that could prompt United to cash in sooner rather than later.
As for Ugarte, he has already garnered interest from a handful of sides in recent weeks, including Galatasaray, who originally held talks over a potential deal back in January.
“It was highlighted when United played Leeds, the team that day was so young and so average,” Butt told PaddyPower, as cited by the Metro.
“They’re going to get rid of a few – Joshua Zirkzee, Manuel Ugarte, Tyrell Malacia, [and] Noussair Mazraoui. Leny Yoro might go on loan.
“They need a few players, not all starters, but they’re going to be playing 60 games next season. You need a squad.”
