BYU guard Alexsej Kostic announced that he will enter the transfer portal. He is the eighth BYU player to enter the portal.
After not getting much playing time the first three months of the season, Kostic was forced into action after Richie Saundersā injury and had some good moments for BYU. Kostic for the season averaged 4.4 points on 37% shooting from three, and had four games where he scored in double figures. Kosticās greatest attribute is his three-point shooting, and he had three games where he made four threes and two where he made three. Kostic will be a sophomore next season at his new school.
Sources tell me that Kostic asked for a dollar figure that was higher than BYU was comfortable paying him. I wouldāve liked Kostic back due to his shooting and continuity he would provide, but BYU didnāt feel comfortable paying what he was asking. He will look for the right money and fit at a new school. I could see him getting starting role at a WCC or MWC caliber school
Alexsej Kostic entered the transfer portal after not receiving enough playing time and reportedly asking for a salary that BYU was not willing to meet.
During his time at BYU, Kostic averaged 4.4 points per game, shooting 37% from three-point range, with four games scoring in double figures.
Kostic is likely to seek a starting role at a school within the West Coast Conference (WCC) or Mountain West Conference (MWC).
