The Detroit Pistons need to turn their schemes and rotations around quickly. Coach JB Bickerstaff and Co. went down 2-1 to the Orlando Magic after a gut-wrenching 113-105 Game 3 loss. A lot of reasons surfaced for why the top seed in the East lost and are now trailing in the NBA Playoffs. Cade Cunningham posits that many of those woes get solved if they get Jalen Duren to pop off.
Jalen Duren was entrusted to play 27 minutes by Coach JB Bickerstaff and the Pistons. Unfortunately, he was only able to put up eight points through going 30% from the field and knocking down two free throws. Defensively, Duren was great against the Magic and it showed with his nine rebounds and five blocks. However, a lot more is expected from the All-Star big man in the NBA Playoffs.
Cade Cunningham's belief in Duren has not withered at all. The Pistons superstar posits that the whole teams knows the big man is due for a big game soon, via Hunter Patterson of The Athletic.
Cade Cunningham emphasized that the Pistons' hope of winning against the Magic relies heavily on Jalen Duren's performance.
In Game 3, Jalen Duren played 27 minutes, scoring eight points with nine rebounds and five blocks, but shot only 30% from the field.
The Pistons are currently trailing 2-1 in the series against the Orlando Magic after losing Game 3.

"He's confident. These last three games haven’t went the way he wants, or we might want for him. But I, and the whole team, have no doubt that he’s going to figure it out. He knows he’s going to figure it out. So I’m excited for next game for him to plant his foot into this series," Cunningham said.
Cunningham has a big target on him when facing the Magic defense. He played 41 minutes for Coach Bickerstaff in Game 3 and got 23 points. But, the drawbacks was he only went eight of 23 from the field and 30% from three-point range. The Pistons star guard knew that he needed to pass more and got nine assists but his nine turnovers meant that the plays just were not getting executed well.
Duren solves all of the Pistons' woes if he is playing at a high level and Cunningham explained why this was the case.
"They’re loading up. Putting pressure on me. But they’re making sure they have a low man over to not allow any lobs. They’re doing a lot of switching, trying to get under JD and keeping somebody in front of me. The back side is over to make sure JD doesn’t get anything over the top. They’re just using team defense and bringing everybody over," Cunningham added.
Game 5 is a must-win for the Pistons if they do not want to get gentlemen swept. Will Duren and Cunningham execute Coach Bickerstaff's schemes well to tie up this NBA Playoffs series?
