So much for Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark easing back into her WNBA career.
Clark scored 20 points in 31 minutes on Saturday, May 9, during the Fever’s 107-104 loss to the Dallas Wings at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
The regular-season opener featured an injury scare, accusations of flopping and a missed 3-point attempt by Clark to tie the game.

If that wasn’t enough for her first day back in the WNBA since July 15, Clark pulled off a second act in front of another full house, this time at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Clark accompanied country-music star Morgan Wallen as he entered the venue for a sold-out Indianapolis show.
The 32-year-old Wallen closed a two-night run in Indianapolis during his 23-city Still the Problem Tour.
Clark, 24, faced scrutiny by seemingly endorsing Wallen. The “Last Night” singer was caught using racial slurs in 2021 and threw a chair off a rooftop bar in Nashville in 2024, among other controversies.
“no why did i just witness caitlin clark with morgan wallen tonight, like why would she do that,” one X user posted.
Others came to her defense, posting a video of Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce walking out with Wallen during a previous tour stop.
“All of the weirdos calling Caitlin Clark racist for walking out on stage at a Morgan Wallen Concert need to get a life. Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce walked out at one too, and there was no outrage,” another user posted.
Meanwhile, Clark got off to an eventful start in the WNBA opener. She was caught on the game broadcast saying “flopping all f—ing day” to Dallas defender after James drew an offensive foul.

Also, she left the bench area twice to have her back adjusted. Clark returned to action both times and said she felt good after the game, per ESPN.
But Clark’s 3-point shooting is still a work in progress. She hit just 2 of her 9 attempts, including a shot in the final 10 seconds that could have tied the game. Clark shot just 27.9 percent from 3-point range during an injury-plagued 2025 season.
Clark added seven assists and five rebounds. The Fever are back in action at 10:30 p.m. ET Wednesday when they visit the Los Angeles Sparks.
