The PGA Tour was back this weekend not just with another signature event, but at a venue which has been off the schedule since 2016. The Cadillac Championship was held at Doral, also called the Blue Monster, for the first time since Adam Scott won the 2016 WGC Championship.
With a new venue, and plenty of money on the line, almost all of the best players in the world descended on Trump National Doral to attempt to claim victory. What no one saw coming was a wire-to-wire win for the red-hot Cameron Young.
Young, who was once considered the best golfer on tour to never win an event, finally broke through last August when he won the Wyndham Championship. That might have been the win to get that proverbial monkey off his back, because in 2026 he has been one of the best golfers in the world.
This season Young has played in nine events, and has made the cut in every event. Throughout those events he has two wins and five Top 10 finishes as he now is sitting 3rd in the FedEx Cup standings.
The victory at Doral might not have been as impressive as his win at TPC Sawgrass when he won the Players Championship, but he has to be happy with how things played out this past weekend. Why should he be happy? Not just because he won, but because of the players he outlasted along the way.
Young kept the pedal down, even after calling a penalty on himself in the 4th Round, and kept Scottie Scheffler, Ben Griffin, Adam Scott, and Sepp Straka all at bay while cruising to a six-shot victory.
At this point Young has to be considered a favorite to win his first major of his career, with the next opportunity coming at the PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club on May 14-17. After finishing the Masters with a T3 finish, will this be the chance for Young to break through?
Only time will tell, but letâs take a look at how we did in our picks from the Cadillac Championship.
Letâs start with a review of the odds to win the tournament heading into Thursday:
Cameron Young won the Cadillac Championship 2026.
The Cadillac Championship 2026 was held at Trump National Doral in Florida.
The Cadillac Championship was last held in 2016.
A wire-to-wire victory in golf means winning the tournament by leading from the first round to the last round.

When it comes to picks for this signature event, I like to start with my favorite and long shot picks for the tournament. The favorite pick is the pick I like the most for an outright winner. For the long shot winner, that is a golfer who has over +2000 odds to win. It is a long shot pick for a reason, and finding those can be like finding a needle in a haystack.
Last week we nailed the winner, the Fitzpatrick brothers winning the Zurich Classic. Did we make it two in a row?
No.
Favorite: Scottie Scheffler (+310) - MISS
Scottie Scheffler had yet another Top 5 finish, finishing 2nd to Cameron Young, but it still feels like wins are on the horizon for Scheffler. With that said, there are still moments during his rounds where his game seems off. Something to track, but Scheffler will be sitting out the event this week before defending his PGA Championship title.
Long Shot: Chris Gotterup (+2800) - MISS
Gotterup had a T38 finish, and there is a reason he was considered a long shot pick for the event. Gotterupâs play has fallen off since two wins early in the season, but should still be a viable option for picks this season.
Morikawa had played well since returning from his back injury suffered on Day 1 of the Players Championship, but his game sputtered on Thursday and Friday resulting in a T62 finish in this non-cut event.
Iâve had my hesitations with Schefflerâs game as of late, but the man is always good for a Top 5 finish. Even though I prefer to give picks with plus-odds, I went with Scottie here and it still paid as we hit the Scheffler Top 5 pick.
Fleetwood started off 2026 hot with a DP World Tour win, but he hasnât been able to piece together the start to the season many predicted. Similar to Cameron Young, Fleetwoodâs Tour Championship win was supposed to spawn more victories in the future. That hasnât happened yet, and Fleetwood finished T23 at the Cadillac Championship, a far cry from Top 10.
In hindsight, I should have considered Young for a Top 5 finish, but I guess you could say I wasnât a believer at the time. Well, I am now. Young cashes the +110 Top 10 finish, and gives us another win on the week.
I took Griffin as a Top 20 pick due to his improved play at the Zurich Classic last week, and the lean paid off with Griffin finishing 3rd in the Cadillac Championship. Griffin, who won three times on the tour last season, is starting to round into form once again. Expect him to be in future plays moving forward.
My âgutâ pick of the week played out as Straka finished T4. The Blue Monster sets up perfectly for Straka, and he started to look like the player who was as force in 2025.
For bonus plays, these are picks which I donât necessarily hang my hat on, but still provide value for some who want more exotic plays outside of the aforementioned picks. Sometimes bonus plays are parlays, double chances, triple chances, and even some fun plays for that particular event.
Here were the Bonus plays for the 2026 Cadillac Championship:
Double Chance: Scottie Scheffler or Cameron Young (+220) - HIT
Young winning the event means this double chance bet played out in our favor at +220 odds.
Triple Chance: Scottie Scheffler or Collin Morikawa or Cameron Young (+180) - HIT
Young winning the event means this triple chance bet played out in our favor at +180 odds.
Top 20 Parlay: Scottie Scheffler, Cameron Young, Collin Morikawa (+210) - MISS
I felt pretty confident in this parlay heading into the tournament, but Morikawaâs bad tournament negated what could have been another pay day in the bonus plays.
Outright Plays: 4/8
Bonus Plays: 2/3
