As Cameron Young looks to win his first major at the Masters today, on his bag is his caddie and friend, Kyle Sterbinsky. The two men have a long history; they were college teammates at Wake Forest University, competing together on the menâs golf team at the North Carolina school.
âCaddies can help you with a lot of things, but I donât know how many youâre going to find who are actually better at reading greens than any of the players,â Young said of Sterbinsky. âIf heâs not better, heâs very, very good.â

Sterbinsky grew up in Yardley, PA, and attend the Peddie School. As a high school freshman, he qualified for sectionals of the U.S. Open, won the Garden State Cup, and he was ranked No. 9 in his class by Golfweek.
As a freshman at Wake Forest, he qualified for the 2016 U.S. Amateur Championship.

âHe was nearing the end of when he was going to keep playing or not. I needed a change. Things were going poorly, and when things are going bad, you change something,â Young said of asking Sterbinsky to caddie for him last summer.
âI didnât want to force his hand,â Young continued. âHe said, âYes, Iâll work for you as long as you want.â It was going to be a couple of weeks. Played well. Another four weeks. Played well. And here we are.â

Sterbinsky began working as Youngâs caddie at the 2025 Truist Championship, and they have worked together since.
After he won the Wyndham Championship, Young said, âKyleâs one of my best friends, a college teammate, and heâs great at reading greens. Heâs very quickly picking up a lot of the technical skills that are required to be a really good caddie out here. Heâs been a great resource for me.â
