The Arizona Cardinals’ decision to move on from Kyler Murray in March is easily the franchise's most significant move so far this offseason.

Murray was the Cardinals’ No. 1 quarterback for seven seasons and helped the organization reach the postseason in 2021-22 (the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Cardinals 34-11 in the NFC Wild Card round).

While many believe that Arizona’s 33-year-old Super Bowl-winning backup quarterback will lead the way for the organization moving forward, an anonymous GM believes he won’t be around for much longer.

“They’ll move (Jacoby) Brissett by the deadline,” the GM told Sportsboom’s Jason La Canfora Monday. “Watch.”

With Murray out of the picture (he recently signed with the Minnesota Vikings), it’s reasonable to assume Brissett will at the very least start the year as the Cardinals' starting signal-caller. Brissett appeared in 14 games with Arizona last season due to Murray’s injury-riddled campaign, recording 3,366 passing yards, 23 touchdowns, and eight interceptions on a 23-8 Cardinals squad.

However, if the unknown GM’s hunch is correct, the Cardinals could feel content parting ways with Brissett at some point during the 2026-27 season and handing the keys to Carson Beck.

Arizona drafted the former Miami QB in the third round of the NFL Draft (No. 65 overall) and could give him early-career reps in Arizona. It’ll be interesting to see how the Cardinals manage their QB situation moving forward.
