The St. Louis Cardinals are amongst one of the best teams in the National League Central this season. At 22-15, they only trail the Chicago Cubs by a marginal 3.5 games back as we enter the heart of May.
With how well their season has gone, there is little room to believe that this team could improve. But, there is a stud down in Triple-A ball that could make his jump to the Big Leagues very soon. In fact, it may be worth it for Cardinals manager Oli Marmol to give him a call prior to the upcoming series against the division-leading Cubs at the end of the month.
Blaze Jordan, the first-baseman prospect that is ranked as the 25th best-prospect in their pipeline, is playing well above his means. With a batting average of .320 this season, eight home runs and 21 RBIs, he is having himself a solid start so far. So much so, that is OPS of .969 is the seventh-highest in the International League.
The New York Yankees just called up Spencer Jones, who was raking it with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and his OPS was lower than Jordan at .958.

The Cardinals could use Jordan at any point this season, but with how hot he has been this month already, why not give him a shot sooner rather than later. The 23-year-old is primed and ready to see some big-league pitching, and this season has been an unexpected one for the once-considered rebuilding franchise.
It might be time to switch things up a bit, in hopes of generating a bit more pop in the lineup.
