Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner faced off for the first time in 2026 at the final of the Monte Carlo Masters.

Alcaraz claimed a maiden Australian Open crown in January but suffered a disappointing hard-court swing in the United States, failing to make the final in either Indian Wells or Miami.

Sinner was victorious, claiming a straight-sets win over his great rival to regain his position as world No. 1.

"It was a bit windy, a bit breezy. Different conditions from what the tournament has brought. The result is amazing. Getting back to No. 1 means a lot for me. I am very happy to win a big title on this surface, I haven't done it before and it means a lot to me."
