A highly technical match. That is how head coach Carlos Eduardo Patetuci sees Sunday’s (19) game against Ecuador, scheduled for 5 p.m. at Ameliano Villeta Stadium, in Villeta, Paraguay. The match will decide third place in the South American U-17 Championship.
“We will go for the win against Ecuador so that we can finish the competition with a positive result and, in a way, ease the pain in our hearts over the title we came here seeking but did not win. Ecuador are also a strong team, with talented attackers and dribbling wingers. They are a side that likes to play with the ball as well. So I believe it will be a very technical duel,” he said.
Brazil’s U-17 National Team finished the first phase with a 100% record, with wins over Bolivia (5-0), Peru (4-1), and Argentina (3-0). In the semifinal, the team suffered a 3-0 defeat to Colombia and, as a result, was knocked out of the title race.
After the end of the South American Championship, Brazil’s U-17 National Team will begin turning its focus to the FIFA U-17 World Cup, which will be played in in November.
