Carrick explains why Casemiro and Sesko missed draw with Sunderland
Manchester United boss Michael Carrick says he is unsure whether Benjamin Sesko will play a part in the remaining two games of the season after missing the draw with Sunderland.
Sesko, along with midfielder Casemiro, missed the goalless draw through injury.
Casemiro is expected to return for next week’s game against Nottingham Forest but Carrick says Sesko’s shin problem will need to be carefully managed.
“Casemiro will be fine. It’s not a major issue,” the United boss said.
“Ben, we’ll just have to see. He’s been carrying that shin issue for a little bit of time now so we just have to manage that and do what’s best for him.”

Asked if it was a chance to see what others can give him in Casemiro’s position, with the Brazilian leaving at the end of this season, Carrick responded: “Not totally on one or two games, I don’t think the whole assessment of where we need to go will be judged on that.
“I think over time you get a clearer picture of what it looks like. Some positive, some negative, what we need to improve on.
“Certainly today, next week and the week after are not going to be a total decisive factor in making decisions. I think it needs a bit more layer and foundations to make decisions than just one or two games.”
Casemiro missed the match due to injury but is expected to return for the next game.
Benjamin Sesko is dealing with a shin problem that requires careful management.
Michael Carrick is unsure if Sesko will participate in the remaining two games of the season.
