Casemiro is set to leave Manchester United after four seasons, with Fenerbahce making significant progress in their pursuit of the Brazilian midfielder. His future was uncertain after a challenging season under former manager Erik ten Hag, but he has excelled this season under new management.
Casemiro: Fenerbahce take key step in pursuit of Man United ace
Casemiro will end his four-season stay at Manchester United this summer, and he is certainly leaving a lot for fans to remember him by. The Brazilian midfielderâs future was subject to speculation in the summer of 2024 after he fell out of favour under former manager Erik ten Hag.
Casemiro ended up staying and it was the Dutchman who had to leave, with United appointing Ruben Amorim as his replacement in November 2024. The Brazilian was subsequently part of a squad that struggled to adapt to the Portuguese head coachâs ideas, with the team finishing 15th in the Premier League.
However, Casemiro has been a revelation this season, first in Amorimâs 3-4-3 system and recently under caretaker manager Michael Carrick. The Brazilian was deployed as part of a two-man midfield pivot alongside Bruno Fernandes by Amorim.
However, Carrick stationed Kobbie Mainoo as Casemiroâs partner and unleashed Fernandes in the No. 10 role. The change has hardly affected the 34 year old, who has continued his golden run under the Englishman and has now turned heads in Turkey.
According to Turkish Football, Fenerbahce have set their sights on Casemiro. The Yellow Canaries want to add a world-class midfielder to their squad this summer to help compete with Galatasaray and have identified the Brazilian as an option.
Casemiro has registered seven goals and two assists in 30 appearances in all competitions this season, all but two of which have been starts.

The veteran midfielderâs efforts have already convinced Fenerbahce, while his availability on a free transfer will also suit their finances. Casemiroâs red-hot form under Carrick has sparked talk of a possible extension, but the player has recently confirmed that the decision to leave is final.
Inter Miami are among the clubs eyeing the former Real Madrid man, who won five Champions League trophies during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu. Inter Milan, Juventus, and AC Milan are reportedly in the race as well.
Amid the rising interest in Casemiroâs signature, Turkish Football confirms that Fenerbahce have established contact with the veteran midfielderâs camp. The report adds: âPresident Sadettin Saran has been vocal about his commitment to âhigh-impactâ transfers that restore Fenerbahçeâs prestige.â
âInsiders suggest that sporting director Devin Ăzek has already opened lines of communication with Casemiroâs representatives, leveraging the clubâs financial stability and the lure of Istanbul to convince the five-time Champions League winner.â
Casemiro is one of the highest earners at Old Trafford and his departure will also help reduce Unitedâs wage bill. A recent report also suggests that United are looking to raise ÂŁ100 million in player sales to help fund the summerâs transfer activities.
As things stand, Casemiro will not be short of options this summer. As United chase qualification for next seasonâs Champions League, fans will hope that the Brazilian can help secure a top-four finish as his parting gift to the club.
