The end of Casemiro’s Manchester United career is drawing near, and his next destination is becoming clearer by the day.
Talks between the 34-year-old Brazilian and Inter Miami in recent weeks have been described as ‘positive’, with the MLS side emerging as frontrunners to secure his signature when his United contract expires on June 30.
Although LA Galaxy hold Casemiro’s discovery rights, the former Real Madrid midfielder is particularly attracted to a potential switch to Inter Miami.
Inter Miami, the reigning MLS champions, sent their first proposal to Casemiro’s camp in late March, eager to add a long-term veteran presence in midfield, especially after the departure of Sergio Busquets.
A move to Florida would also reunite Casemiro with Lionel Messi, a longtime rival at both club and international levels, with whom he has shared some defining moments in a glittering career.
However, there are financial complexities. Inter Miami currently have three designated players on their roster and cannot spend big on a fourth under MLS salary cap rules.
Casemiro's discussions with Inter Miami have been described as 'positive,' indicating a strong possibility of his transfer to the MLS club.

As a result, Casemiro would need to accept a substantial wage reduction to finalise a deal. He currently earns £375,000 per week at United, so a special arrangement would likely be needed to bridge the gap.
Casemiro has been one of United’s better performers in recent months, but the Red Devils are not expected to make a U-turn on his impending exit.
Michael Carrick’s side are planning a midfield rebuild this summer, with the likes of Elliot Anderson and Mateus Fernandes linked with moves to Old Trafford.
