Cayden Boozer will be returning for Year 2 with Duke basketball and head coach Jon Scheyer.
Duke basketball announced the 6-foot-4 point guard would be returning for the 2026-27 season on Thursday, April 16.
The retention of Boozer is big piece for Scheyerâs roster next season. Boozer averaged 7.7 points and 2.3 rebounds during his freshman season with the Blue Devils, primarily coming off the bench. He started the last seven of Dukeâs games for an injured Caleb Foster, averaging 13 points per game across that span. He posted back-to-back, career-high 16 points in the ACC Tournament and added to it with 19 points in the NCAA Tournament opener against Siena.
Boozer, son of former Blue Devil Carlos Boozer, came to Duke as a five-star recruit alongside twin brother Cameron, the National Player of the Year and projected top-3 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
Duke finished its fourth season under Scheyer 35-3 overall and 17-1 in ACC play. It claimed the ACC regular season and tournament titles, making it to the Elite 8 of the 2026 NCAA Tournament for the second straight season.
