CBF appoints Daniel Vasconcelos as Brazilian Série D coordinator

CBF president Samir Xaud signed an ordinance this Thursday (16) appointing Daniel Vasconcelos, president of the Federal District Football Federation, as coordinator of the Brazilian Série D Championship. In this role, Vasconcelos will provide institutional oversight of the competition, which has the largest number of clubs in Brazilian football.

Among the responsibilities of the position, the new Série D coordinator will liaise with the state federations to which the clubs participating in the competition are affiliated, monitor the implementation of guidelines and decisions related to Série D, and coordinate communication between clubs, federations, and CBF itself. Vasconcelos will also be responsible for eventually drafting proposals to CBF for initiatives that strengthen the competition and ensure its sustainability.

For president Samir Xaud, this is another step by CBF’s current administration to improve Brazilian football. “Another special day at CBF. Vasconcelos is joining us in this edition of Série D, with 96 clubs, the biggest in history. He will help us run the championship and liaise with clubs and federations. This is yet another sign of the new CBF administration, which has come to improve our football,” said Xaud.

The new Série D coordinator thanked them for the trust placed in him and promised commitment for this historic edition of the competition. “First, I want to thank president Samir Xaud for his trust in appointing me as coordinator of this championship, which is very important for Brazilian football. All 26 states and the Federal District are represented in Série D. I receive this invitation with great satisfaction and, on my part, there will be a lot of dedication and work alongside the federations, clubs, and CBF to strengthen the competition,” said Vasconcelos.
