According to the responses, many players across the league consider White the most underrated player in the NBA.
A total of 151 votes were cast for the NBA's Most Underrated Player, with White and Atlanta Hawks forward Jalen Johnson at the forefront, each receiving 4% of the votes.

"Something that is crystal clear: Players believe the Boston Celticsâ Derrick White still has not received his due respect," Robbins, Amick and Vardon wrote. "He is among the leaders here year in and year out. In 2024, he tied for the win with the Oklahoma City Thunderâs Jalen Williams. Last year, he finished second, trailing only the Detroit Pistonsâ Cade Cunningham. And now, heâs won again, tying with the Atlanta Hawksâ Jalen Johnson."
White wasn't the only Celtics player to rank high on the list; Jaylen Brown and Payton Pritchard tied for second place, each receiving 3.3% of the vote, along with their former teammate Jrue Holiday.
