The Boston Celtics aim to wrap up the series against the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 6 on Thursday night. However, one of their key players, Derrick White, needs to step up to get the job done.
White had a night to forget in the Celtics' Game 5 loss to the 76ers on Tuesday, scoring just six points while shooting 2-for-8 from the field and failing to make any of his four attempts from beyond the arc. He spoke about his shooting struggles on Thursday.
"It's easy to say just go out there and have fun, but there are a lot of different things that go into it," White said, Via Celtics on CLNS. "So definitely thankful for the teammates I have to keep me going and have my back. It's up to me to play the way I know I can."
White hasn’t shot the ball well at all this series. While Game 5 was his most recent struggle, he also scored only six points in Game 4, 11 in Game 3, eight in Game 2 and 10 in Game 1.
If White can nail down his shot in Game 6, there's a good chance the Celtics will pull off a win and advance to the next series, where they'll be waiting for the outcome between the Atlanta Hawks and the New York Knicks.
