The Boston Red Sox suffered a 3-2 loss to the Atlanta Braves on Friday as Mike Yastrzemski hit a walk-off double in the bottom of the 10th.
Following the loss in extra innings, Red Sox’s interim manager Chad Tracy was frustrated with the team’s running on the base paths. Tracy said that was something he wanted to improve on when he got hired, but that didn’t show.
In the first inning after a leadoff walk, Jarren Duran was nearly thrown out on a back pick, while Mickey Gasper was caught stealing second base with one out in the fourth inning and Willson Contreras at the plate.
Then, an inning later, Ceddanne Rafaela got thrown out trying to steal third base with out. Tracy believes those mistakes could have led to runs and ultimately cost Boston the game.
