The Boston Red Sox have been without their best hitter since May 4, when Roman Anthony suffered a right wrist sprain against the Detroit Tigers. He was placed on the 10-day injured list on May 7, retroactive to May 5.
That makes him to eligible to return on Friday, May 15. However, that doesn't sound likely based on the injury update that interim manager Chad Tracy shared with WEEI on Thursday.
"I'm hoping quickly," Tracy said on Thursday's episode of "The Greg Hill Show." "The nature of that injury... It really is a matter of waiting for it to heal, and that could happen very quickly. I know there's been some ambiguity about that... It's hard for me to even answer. It could be this road trip. Maybe it isn't... I know that's a bit of a vague answer. We're still hopeful."

The Red Sox remain in a "wait and see" mode with their 22-year-old superstar. They kick off a six-game road trip on Friday with a weekend series against the Atlanta Braves, followed by a three-game series against the Kansas City Royals.
The hope is that Anthony is able to return at some point during that trip, but Boston will likely remain cautious with him given how early it is in the season.
Time will tell when he's ready to come back, but hopefully it's sooner rather than later.
