The Los Angeles Chargers mocked Texans QB C.J. Stroud during their schedule release, referencing a viral moment from Stroud's past. The video features a humorous take on Stroud's advice to Bears QB Caleb Williams after a game.
Because of course the Los Angeles Chargers found a way to make fun of Houston Texans Pro Bowl quarterback C.J. Stroud in their schedule release.
The Bolts have been known for years as the king of schedule release videos, going out of their way to poke fun at everything and everyone for their mishaps and insecurities. On Thursday night, they let their feelings be known on how they feel about playing Stroud and the Texans in Week 9.
Using the video game "Halo," along with the theme, Los Angeles went back in time to Week 2 of the 2024 season, when the Texans' second-year quarterback was advising on Chicago Bears' No. 1 overall pick, Caleb Williams, postgame. The now-infamous video shows an annoyed Williams, who looked like he wanted nothing to do with anyone after the game, but Stroud was persistent in offering advice.
The reality is, Stroud was trying to offer wisdom to the rookie even though he himself was still considered a "rising star" entering this second season. Since that viral moment, Williams has blossomed into one of the league's top signal-callers, leading the Bears to a postseason berth and playoff victory over the Green Bay Packers.
On the flip side, Stroud has struggled since that moment, often being considered the reason for Houston's inability to move past the divisional round. He is also entering his fourth season, and it feels like it'll be a make-or-break campaign.
For the Texans' part in the video, fast-forward to roughly the 2:40 marker.
