An agreement has been reached between the former Liverpool striker and the Saudi side to part company at the end of the campaign. Nunez signed for Al-Hilal from Liverpool in a âŹ53m deal last summer and has scored nine times in 24 appearances.
However, the Uruguayan was omitted from Al-Hilalâs league squad for the second half of the 2025/26 season, following the arrival of Karim Benzema. He was excluded due to foreign-player limits, although he remained eligible to play in the AFC Champions League.
According to El Observador Uruguay, an agreement has now been reached for Nunez to leave the club this summer. Chelsea are one of several clubs considering an approach, alongside interest from Italian sides Juventus and AC Milan.
Nunez scored 40 goals in 143 appearances during his time at Liverpool and was part of the squad that won the Premier League title in 2024/25. He was allowed to move on last summer, following the recruitment of Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike. Chelsea are keen to sign a striker this summer with tipped to depart.
