Chelsea have made it clear they plan to focus on signing players with Premier League experience, and one of them appears to be Sunderland midfielder Noah Sadiki. Small but tenacious, he’s shown he’s ready for the next level.

The news comes from Sacha Tavolieri, who puts the Blues at the top of the list for potential destinations for Sadiki, along with Manchester United.

Chelsea fall behing in Sadiki race after bad results

Tavolieri claims that the 21 year old has not made up his mind about his future, but “will make his own choice depending on the sporting project.”

Right now, it’s hard to see him picking Chelsea over Man U on that basis. After the Red Devils beat us on Saturday night, they effectively secured their place in the Champions League while setting us up to play Thursday night football at best next season.

It’s not clear how much the 21 year old would cost, but after a €17m move last summer to Sunderland, he’s now valued at €30m by Transfermarkt. We’d expect him to end up costing more than that, given their strong control over his contract.

In other news…

Chelsea are lining up a bid for one of South American’s most promising young talents, according to Ben Jacobs.

Liam Delap is not having a good time up top for the Blues, with another start on Saturday leading to a blank.
