With offseason preparations ramping up across the league, the Kansas City Chiefs are already seeing encouraging signs from their franchise quarterback. Less than a month before the team begins its first voluntary practices, head coach Andy Reid said Saturday that Patrick Mahomes is on track to participate in team activities, even if his involvement is somewhat limited at the outset. The Chiefs also made headlines earlier this offseason by signing Justin Fields, adding depth and flexibility to their quarterback room.

Mahomes has been steadily progressing through rehabilitation after undergoing surgery in December to repair a torn ACL and LCL in his left knee. According to Reid, the recovery process has gone smoothly, with no significant setbacks. While the team plans to remain cautious, early signs point to Mahomes being able to rejoin his teammates on the field when organized team activities (OTAs) begin later this month.
