The Kansas City Chiefs are advised to focus on defense in the first round of the draft, particularly in cornerback and pass rush. In later rounds, they should consider adding a protector or weapon for Patrick Mahomes, with Georgia State's Ted Hurst suggested as a potential target.

The Kansas City Chiefs' draft needs, in the first-round at least, should be centered on the defense, with corner and the franchise's lack of a pass rush last season, in need of reinforcement.
But in the later rounds?
It feels like the Chiefs have a great chance to get Patrick Mahomes either a better protector or another weapon.
In truth, either would be good for the Chiefs' offense, as they could be considered significant needs for depth, and Fox Sports' Eric Williams has named Ted Hurst, a receiver from Georgia State as a good option.
"Kansas City could use a big, explosive playmaker that can stretch the field, providing Patrick Mahomes with another dynamic option on the perimeter," Williams wrote. "At 6-foot-4 and 206 pounds with a 4.42 40-yard time, Hurst provides that option in Day 2 of this year’s draft, allowing the Chiefs to focus on replenishing the defense with the team’s two first-round picks."

His size alone would create some fascinating matchups for the Chiefs, especially in the red zone, as Mahomes doesn't have a receiver to throw 50/50 balls to and turn them into 70/30 balls.
That could be Hurst.
According to Williams, Hurst has good hands and is superb after the catch, and I'd imagine Andy Reid would scheme him open to devastating effect.
He wouldn't be the top name on the depth chart, allowing him to work on his game in the shadows, and for a later round pick, Hurst in Kansas City might not be a bad option.
