On Monday, the Frenchman sustained a knock at Appiano Gentile, which brought a premature end to his training session. Several sources in the Italian media claimed that the 28-year-old is unlikely to be fit in time for the grand finale.
But as reported on Tuesday morning by FCInterNews, Thuram made a surprise appearance on the training ground, joining his teammates as usual. The strikerâs return dispelled all concerns regarding a muscle injury.
In his pre-match press conference on Tuesday (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Chivu touched on the subject, confirming that Thuram has indeed trained with his teammates, but must overcome a late athletic test to prove his fitness.
Thuram is doing well. He trained with us today and weâll evaluate him again tomorrow.
