Clemson basketball has signed 6-9 forward Dylan Faulkner, a transfer from Samford. Faulkner averaged 17.2 points and 8.6 rebounds last season, earning All-SoCon honors.

CLEMSON — Clemson basketball landed its second transfer with the addition of former Samford forward Dylan Faulkner on April 17, according to On3.
Faulkner, 6-foot-9, 215 pounds, averaged 17.2 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game with Samford last season to earn All-SoCon First Team and All-Defensive Team honors.
He spent two seasons with Lipscomb before transferring to Samford. Faulkner has one year of eligibility remaining.
Clemson was in need of post players after losing leading scorer RJ Godfrey and Nick Davidson to expiring eligibility. The Tigers also don't have a timetable for the return of starting center Carter Welling, who tore his ACL in the ACC Tournament. Welling was the team's leading shot blocker and rebounder before his injury.

Faulkner, who doesn't shoot many 3-pointers, can help replace Godfrey and Welling's production if his game translates well in the ACC.
Faulker also followed former Samford/Lipscomb assistant Tyler Murray to Clemson. Murray was hired as the team's general manager, replacing Lucas McKay.
Faulkner is Clemson's second portal addition, joining Notre Dame transfer guard Cole Certa. Faulkner will join Clemson's frontcourt that features Welling, Chase Thompson, Dallas Thomas, Trent Steinour, Blake Davidson and signee Will Stevens.
With the addition of Faulkner, the Tigers have 12 roster spots filled with three remaining on their 2026-27 roster.
Clemson only used 13 roster spots in 2025-26.
