Clemson softball faces UNC Greensboro in the NCAA Tournament today, marking their sixth consecutive postseason appearance. The Tigers hold a 32-20 record and are the No. 2 seed in their regional.
Clemson softball is back in the NCAA Tournament for the sixth straight season, and the Tigers will open postseason play Friday afternoon against UNC Greensboro in the Athens Regional.
The Tigers head into the tournament with a 32-20 record after battling through another tough ACC schedule. Clemson finished 13-11 in conference play and earned the No. 2 seed in a regional that also features Georgia and Charleston. The host Bulldogs enter the weekend as the top seed, while Charleston grabbed the No. 4 spot.
Clemsonâs lineup has produced several big performances throughout the season. Jamison Brockenbrough has been one of the teamâs most consistent hitters, while Marian Collins continues to provide production near the top of the order. Corri Hicks has delivered much of Clemsonâs power this year, leading the Tigers in home runs, and both Sarah Breaux and Taylor Pipkins have added plenty of extra-base pop as well.
In the circle, Clemson has relied on Sierra Manness and Abby Dunning for most of the season. Manness has put together another strong year as the Tigersâ top arm, while Dunning has given Clemson valuable innings after arriving from Boston College.
UNC Greensboro enters the regional with momentum after winning the Southern Conference Tournament to lock up an automatic NCAA Tournament berth. The Spartans bring a 42-17 record into Fridayâs matchup after shutting out Samford in the conference title game.
First pitch between Clemson and UNC Greensboro is set for 4:30 p.m. ET on Friday. The game will be televised on ACC Network, with streaming available through ESPN+ and FUBO.
