The NFL is deep into preparations for the 2026 NFL Draft, which means it is time for smokescreens, leaked reports about players rising or falling on draft boards, and the usual shenanigans associated with draft season.
The Cleveland Browns are always in the mix because, as âeveryone knows,â general manager Andrew Berry canât resist making a trade to accumulate futures draft assets.
This year, there is speculation that the Browns could move down in the first round from the No. 6 overall selection, possibly move their second first-round pick (No. 24 overall) for a first-round selection in 2027, potentially package a Day 2 selection to move back into the first round, and everything in between.
That all sounds fun, except for the constant trading down part, but everyone involved needs to remember that no one really knows what will happen once the draft opens on April 23. Teams may want to trade down, but they have to find a trade partner interested in trading up. And while it is never a bad idea to have Jerry Jones on speed dial, there are only so many gullible people willing to deal in a draft that is light on top quarterbacks.
In the end, it is all basically harmless and just another example of how the NFL owns the attention of media and fans 365 days a year.
Enough about that, letâs get the day going with the latest edition of the Sunday Dawg Chow.
If any team would pass on the presumptive No. 1 quarterback, it would be the Raiders.
The Cleveland Browns currently hold the No. 6 and No. 24 overall picks in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Andrew Berry is known for his strategy of trading to accumulate future draft assets, making him a key player in draft negotiations.
The Browns are speculated to consider moving down from their No. 6 pick, trading their No. 24 pick for a future first-round selection, or packaging a Day 2 selection to move back into the first round.
Draft shenanigans, such as smokescreens and leaked reports, create a dynamic environment that influences the Browns' decision-making and trade strategies leading up to the draft.
