The pursuit for high end offensive linemen in the 2028 class continued this week when the Buckeyes made another new set of offers in Texas. The first by way of four-star prospect **JaiāStorm Knight**, and itās clear why they would do so. An incredible 6-foot-8, 335 pound frame as just a high school sophomore, top tier college programs are taking notice in droves and that now includes Ohio State. The No. 180 player nationally and the 20th best tackle in the cycle per the 247Sports Composite, Tyler Bowen has the Buckeyes on a list that includes Auburn, Florida, LSU, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, and more. A commonality to see that many in-state programs already after him, Ohio State may have their work cut out for themselves, but when it comes to recruiting Texas they do it just as well as anyone in the country.
#AGTG After a great talk w/ @TonyJCoach, Iām blessed to receive an offer to Thee @OhioStateFB! š°@BigJack1169@MickensJay@TheProtectUCrew@chasek\_52@coach9cg@CCSRecruitingFB@kcolesports@samspiegs@ChadSimmons\_@adamgorney@MikeRoach247@GPowersScout@TXPrivateFBGuy⦠pic.twitter.com/dJzv7pfbIn
ā JaiāStorm Knight (@JaistormK99) May 13, 2026 Sticking in Texas and at offensive tackle, the Buckeyes gave their second offer to **RāMonie Edwards** this week who also took to social media to share the news. One of the top-ranked players in the 2028 class at his position, Tyler Bowen loves what he sees from Edwards and certainly his status makes sense when you see the offer list and throw on the film. A 6-foot-5, 310 pound tackle, RāMonie is the No. 36 player nationally and the fifth best at his position per the 247Sports Composite grades. Florida, Florida State, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, and others earlier to the race than Ohio State, the Buckeyes shouldnāt have much of an uphill battle for making up for lost time. More names sure to pop in the coming weeks, Bowen has two more Texans to keep track of. I am extremely blessed to receive an offer from the University of Ohio state ā¤ļøš¤ AGTG #GoBuckeyesš° @WRAB50@J\_Hines74@Coach\_Wozniak@R2X\_Rushmen1@TylerBowen@ryandaytime@CyRanchFB@CoachScottTX@samspiegs@TFloss32@TomLoy247@MikeRoach247pic.twitter.com/3HB3tY9XpD

Commitment season coming for several top priorities on Ohio Stateās recruiting board, the Buckeyes wonāt have to wait much longer to see how they fare for four-star linebacker **AJ Randle**, who has a commitment date now set for May 21. A 2027 North Carolina native, Randle is the No. 95 player nationally and the sixth best linebacker in the class per the 247Sports Composite. Ohio State a consistent theme in his recruitment for the last few months, the Buckeyes will have to battle the likes of Florida, Georgia, Miami, North Carolina State, and South Carolina for his services.

ā Hayes Fawcett (@Hayesfawcett3) May 14, 2026 Looking specifically at targets Ohio State would love to flip away from their current commitment status, you can include **Benny Easter Jr**. A 6-foot-, 200 pound receiver, Easter has been committed to Texas Tech since November of last year, but the Buckeyes and Cortez Hankton are putting the full court press on him to see if they can lure him away. The No. 36 player nationally and the seventh best receiver in the 2027 class per the 247Sports Composite, Ohio State will see their best opportunity at changing his mind in early June when heās in Columbus for his official visit. NEW: Blue-chipper Benny Easter Jr. is one of the crown jewels of Texas Tech's No. 2-ranked recruiting class
Ohio State, Ole Miss, and another in-state contender are dialing up the heat on the flip target
