The Indianapolis Colts ranked third in draft class value for the 2026 NFL draft, behind only the Washington Commanders and Carolina Panthers. This ranking is based on a metric called Draft Capital Over Expectation.
Only two teams derived more draft pick value than the Indianapolis Colts.
Using a combination of a consensus mock draft and a consensus big board, Warren Sharp compiled his draft class value rankings, using a metric he calls Draft Capital Over Expectation. Or another way to put it, was the prospect taken in the draft where they were expected to go?
The Colts, who ended up making eight picks in this year's draft, ended up ranking third in draft class value, trailing only the Washington Commanders and the Carolina Panthers.
Using Arif Hasan's all-encompassing consensus big board as our guide, here is where each Colts draft pick was selected with their consensus big board ranking in parentheses.
Of the Colts' eight picks, six of them were taken after their consensus big board ranking, providing Indianapolis with value gained.
The best value selection for the Colts was wide receiver Deion Burks, who was taken at 254th overall but ranked 96th on the consensus big board. That's a difference of 158.

Caden Curry (-53) and Seth McGowan (-55) were second and third in draft pick value for the Colts.
The two lone selections by the Colts that were taken before their consensus ranking were Bryce Boettcher and George Gumbs. Boettcher's difference was minimal, while Gumbs was +79.
Overall, the Colts were -222 in draft pick value, and by this metric, negative is good.
