Colts trade back in Rounds 2 and 3 mock draft after first round picks

Just because the 2026 NFL draft is underway does not mean that we are done running through mock draft simulations for the Indianapolis Colts.

All things considered, the first round played out quite well for the Colts. A number of players at key positions of need still remain available. In fact, because of that, the chances of the Colts moving back from pick 47 may have increased.

So with that, that is exactly what we did in this Day 2 mock draft, using PFF's simulator.

Using the Rich Hill trade value chart as our guide, the Colts made a trade with Jacksonville, moving from pick 47 to pick 56, while also accumulating pick 100 -- giving the Colts three much-needed selections in the first three rounds.

Pick 56: Dani Dennis-Sutton, DE, Penn State

Experience, production, and a terrific athlete. When it comes to what teams want in a prospect, Dennis-Sutton checks those boxes. Measuring in at 6-5 - 265 pounds, Dennis-Sutton has put together back-to-back highly productive seasons, totaling 45 pressures and nine sacks in 2024, followed by 51 pressures and eight sacks this past season. He's also graded out well as a run defender by PFF's metrics.

Pick 78: Anthony Hill Jr., LB, Texas

Landing Hill Jr. at pick 78 feels like a steal. He brings a do-it-all presence to the linebacker position, able to make an impact as a blitzer, in the run game, and in coverage. He would compete for starting snaps immediately.
