The Washington Commanders are once again linked to star NFC wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk as they seek to bolster their offense. Despite offseason speculation, no draft picks were made to address this need, but further moves may still occur.

It is no secret that the Washington Commanders need to get Jayden Daniels more help on offense, and Terry McLaurin a running mate.
Some thought that would happen in the NFL Draft, with Carnell Tate and Jordyn Tyson being mocked to Washington. That didn't happen.
But all offseason, there has been one player who has been consistently linked to Washington, and that has been Brandon Aiyuk. While it has been quiet on that front lately, given Washington only took Antonio Williams in the third round, more is needed; a move could still happen.
And CBS Sports' Bryan DeArdo thinks it should.
"The Commanders know that the 49ers don't have much leverage and are likely waiting for San Francisco to release him," DeArdo wrote. "The 49ers surely know Washington wants Aiyuk to pair with his former college teammate Jayden Daniels."

I think they will, but it will only be on one condition -- San Francisco releases him.
Just my two cents, but the Commanders aren't going to part ways with any draft capital when they know the 49ers are likely to release him later in the offseason.
Plus, Aiyuk hasn't played in over a year, so he will take some time to get up to speed, and the Commanders won't be dishing out draft capital for that.
So, the 49ers, it appears, are backed into a corner. Either they keep Aiyuk and likely don't use him, or they release him, and he finds his way to Washington.
Will it happen? Your guess is as good as mine.
The Commanders are looking to provide more offensive support for quarterback Jayden Daniels and wide receiver Terry McLaurin, making Aiyuk a potential target.
The Commanders selected running back Antonio Williams in the third round, but did not address their wide receiver needs in the draft.
While there has been consistent speculation about Aiyuk joining the Commanders, no recent developments have been reported, but a trade could still be possible.
