The Washington Commanders hosted their annual Topgolf event for NFL draft prospects, inviting players to showcase their golfing skills. This year's event featured 20 participants, including notable names like Arvell Reese and Caleb Downs, as the team prepares for the No. 7 pick in the upcoming 2026 draft.
The Washington Commanders conducted their Top 30 visit event on Tuesday night.
This serves as the third consecutive year the Commanders have brought in prospects to compete against each other at Topgolf. It's an informal night where players can show how well they can (or can't) hit a golf ball. The Commanders, with the No. 7 pick in the 2026 draft next week, invited several players who will be considered potential picks in that area of the draft. They also invited some players projected to be drafted later.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport revealed that Arvell Reese, David Bailey, Caleb Downs, Sonny Styles, Carnell Tate, Jeremiyah Love, Rueben Bain, Mansoor Delane and Makai Lemon were among the 20 prospects participating in the event.
In 2024, some media members who did not like the event attempted to make an issue of it by saying the Commanders might be embarrassing some top players, such as Jayden Daniels. Pro Football Talk co-hosts Mike Florio and Chris Simms really seemed to lose it last year, going as far as accusing the Commanders brass of GM Adam Peters and HC Dan Quinn were treating these prospective draft choices as, quote, "Zoo animals."
However, the Commanders selected Jayden Daniels with the second overall pick in that 2024 draft and offensive lineman Josh Conerly with the 29th overall pick the following year in the 2025 draft. Both of whom attended their respective Topgolf night outing.
Who will be the pick this year? The 2026 NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday, April 23, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The event allows potential draft picks to showcase their skills in a relaxed setting while the Commanders evaluate them ahead of the NFL draft.
Notable participants included Arvell Reese, David Bailey, Caleb Downs, and Sonny Styles, among others.
In 2024, some media members criticized the event, suggesting it embarrassed top players like Jayden Daniels, with accusations of treating prospects disrespectfully.
